Utah Railway took its first delivery of 40-foot steel drop bottom gondolas from Pressed Steel Car Company in 1914. This decal set is designed for the Bonsall Scale Car Shops kit (not included) and letters two cars.
Coal from Utah’s Carbon County mines served by the Utah Railway had a market covering the entire west all the way to the coast. Utah Railway gondolas have been photographed in Oregon, California, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and elsewhere. In 1916 Utah Railway formed a joint car fleet with the Los Angeles & Salt Lake which took on the famous “Utah Coal Route” lettering.
