Description

Traced from the original 1904 lettering diagram and referenced against photographs, this decal set letters three complete cabooses in the style used by the Denver & Rio Grande between 1904 and 1921.

Standard gauge cabooses were lettered with a similar standard so this decal set can be adapted to fit a variety of models.

The 1904 lettering diagram indicates that the cabooses were painted in the following manner:
-Body is “Permanent Caboose Red”
-Window sashes are painted Tuscan Red
-Platforms, roof and runningboard are painted Prince’s Mineral Brown (oxide brown)
-Grab irons, ladders, trucks and ironwork are painted black
-Lettering is done in white lead paint
