The D&RG purchased majority control of the Rio Grande Western in 1901 and over time standardized the painting styles between the two railroads. This decal set represents RGW 36-foot boxcars repainted into the D&RG style in 1907. Letters two cars.
The 2400-series boxcars were numbered 2400 through 2418 for a total of 18. The D&RG and RGW merged in 1908, but it took several years for the rolling stock fleet to be repainted and RGW boxcars remained on the rails until around 1916.
